One of the six (sa) tīrthyas, or brahminical heretics, given to extravagant austerities; his doctrine was that the happiness of the next life is correlative to the sufferings of this life.

梵語阿耆多翅舍， 字也。 梵語欽婆羅， 麤衣名， 因以為名也。 其人起邪見， 非因計因， 著麤弊衣， 自拔其髮， 以煙熏鼻， 及五熱炙身， 修諸苦行為道。 自謂今身併受諸苦， 則後身常得樂也。 （非因計因者， 本非得樂之因， 而妄計此因能得樂也。 五熱者， 四面火聚， 更加頭上有日， 故云五熱炙身。 ）
